Congratulations to Jordan Apele,Kaitlynn Fix, and Holly Kvalheim, winners of the 2012 Library Excellence in Action Student Employee Awards!

Jordan Apele
Jordan's skill, initiative, and engagement in the library made her a nominee we could easily agree on. That she was nominated by  several different people who had experienced her great work was a further plus. Jordan has an eye for graphics, an aptitude for technology, and the proactive willingness to apply these skills. Her motivation, her intelligence, and her openness to others will take her far.

Kaitlynn Fix
We were impressed with Kaitlynn's dedication to Collins Library, evidenced by her long service and her great contributions. Her flexibility and generosity of spirit in serving not only the library users but also other student workers impressed us. Her nominator noted that she is quick to volunteer to help at the circulation desk if other employees call in sick, and that she is quick to help others when needed. We love to see student workers supporting each other.

Holly Kvalheim
Holly Kvalheim was nominated by three separate staff members, all of whom testified to her great dedication to Collins.  She has mended over 700 items, working conscientiously and dependably as well as innovatively. She has learned new skills to better complete her work, and uncomplainingly assisted library staff and other student workers. Her work requires good judgment and patience, which she deploys to help steward the library's materials.
